With over 13 years of experience in corporate law, Margaret brings deep technical expertise to the team. Her work spans the full spectrum of corporate proceedings, including incorporations, amendments, amalgamations, continuances, arrangements, dissolutions, and various registrations, such as extra provincial filings, business name registrations, and limited partnerships. She manages corporate records, prepares and organizes transaction documents, coordinates closings, collects signatures, and drafts ancillary documents and agreements to ensure transactions proceed smoothly from start to finish.
Margaret is particularly skilled at bringing corporate records into order. When minute books are in a poor or outdated state, she conducts meticulous reviews, rectifies deficiencies, and ensures companies are fully compliant and in good standing. Her keen eye for detail and methodical approach have proven invaluable in complex M&A transactions, reorganizations, and corporate governance matters alike.
Before joining R&D LLP, Margaret worked at one of Canada’s top national firms for emerging companies, gaining extensive experience with start-ups and high-growth businesses. She is known for her collaborative approach, technical precision, and unwavering commitment to helping clients stay organized, compliant, and transaction-ready, making her an integral and trusted partner to both colleagues and clients. Her steady leadership and dependable presence help anchor the Business Law Group through demanding files and high volume periods.
Margaret has completed the Legal Administration/Law Clerk Diploma Program at Durham College.
Outside of business hours, Margaret enjoys traveling, reading a good book, baking, and going on adventures with her family.
